This is an ambitious experiment by KSOU. The duty of universities does not end with awarding degrees. This expansion has been initiated with the view that it is the duty of the university to impart quality training to the underprivileged at their affordable cost and to settle them in jobs. A longing and a dream to impart the knowledge to the aspirants, to open the door to the world of knowledge for the deserving. A birth center of longing for fulfillment. The main aim of this center is to provide training and guidance to those who are disadvantaged without proper guidance in today's competitive world. The center helps candidates preparing for competitive exams like IAS, KAS and other competitive exams conducted by Central and State Public Service Commissions, FDA, SDA, Police Sub-Inspector, Police Constable competitive exams and staff selection commission, also training is provided for UGC-NET and KSET exams.

The competitive exams center also focus on preparing Kannada medium students, especially rural candidates, for competitive examinations, the Universitystarted Competitive Examination Training Center in the academic year 2011-12. So far Successful coaching for IAS, KAS, Bank Exams, NET, SLET, High School, Primary School Teacher Recruitment Exams, along with continuous spoken English related trainings has been conducted. Thousands of students from different districts of the state have come for the training to be conducted by the KSOU Competitive Examination Training Centre. Quality training will be provided to the candidates for a fee of 500 rupees which is only for open-source study book given to them after training. Honorary remuneration of Rs.600/- is being given to resource persons. This training is being conducted completely free of charge for all sections of the society

To facilitate Candidates from different districts of the state who will attend this training from rural areas and poor family, accommodation at hostel is provided with a charge of 50 Rupees. So far around 15,000 students have acquired training from the competitive exams center and many of them have found success.

Aims and Objectives

1. To create awareness among students about various competitive exams.

2. Providing quality coaching and guidance for competitive examinations conducted by Central Public Service Commission and State Public Service Commissions. Also providing coaching and guidance for other competitive exams like Police recruitments, UGC-NET and KSET exam, banking recruitments.

3. To create strong base for students to face challenges in the world of competitive exams.

4. To impart ethical values to the candidates.
