Centre for Innovation is started at KSOU under the aegis of Research and Development Cell, KSOU in the year 2022 to promote innovation. It aims to create innovation, start-up & Entrepreneurial ecosystem. The Government of Karnataka has sanctioned 25 lakhs to start a centre of excellence in the Mandakalli campus of the University.
- The centre for innovation encourages post graduate students and research scholars to take up innovative works. Innovative works of students and faculty members are identified.
- The Goal of CIE is encouraging students & project teams to register at least 10 start-ups by end of 2025,
- A nodal officer is appointed to promote the centre of innovation.

Congratulations to the young scientists of Karnataka Mr. Yutha Talwar Kotresh in the national level youth science functional science models challenge program and were selected for the world level exhibition https://inex-india.com/ At the Indian Young Inventors and Innovators Challenge 2021 – 2022 (May 27th and 28th) organized by IYIIC at Vododara, Gujarat, several young scientists from Karnataka participated in demonstrations of functional science models, in which a young scientist from Hagaribommanahalli, Vijayanagar district presented a special model of a functional model solar electric bike by Mr. Yutha Talwar Kotresh. This special model attracted special attention by the appreciation of the national level judges and was successfully selected as the winner in the result list announced on June 2. Later on, the solar electric bike functional model of Mr. Yuta Talwar Kotresh, a young scientist from Karnataka and Inorva, will be selected to participate in the world level exhibition at the India International Invention and Innovation Expo 2022 to be held in Goa.
